Quake in Italy

istanbul8, originally uploaded by Ohrmazd's Vision.

The earthquake earlier today in Italy has caused much damage to many older buildings and antiquities, not to mention the human suffering. Spring has been raw, with only a few moments of greenpromise.
I hope that the situation in Italy is less severe than initially reported.

Beautiful piece but alas it is worse than feared.
Did you hear about the scientist who was silenced after he warned of the coming earthquake?

I did hear that the scientist who was silenced was actually threatened with arrest at the time, for fomenting unrest and disseminating misinformation. At least some of the suffering could have been avoided had he been heeded. With the aftershocks, it is worse than feared..
